WHAT ARE YOU GRATEFUL FOR?

Gratitude Dance.jpg

"So many people today are focused on what is missing in their life. When you focus on what's missing you miss the many amazing things that are already there." So begins a fabulous little video created by a couple of young guys, Brad and Matty, to express gratitude for what they already have in their lives.

Directions from Brad and Matty;

#1 When you wake up in the morning you're going to write a list of what you're truly grateful for.

#2 You're going to watch this video.

#3 You're going to do the Gratitude Dance.

This is SO worth the little 3 or so minutes it takes to watch. You'll be grinning from ear to ear and maybe even dancing what you're grateful for. Click here

What joy!

DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!

Olympic Torch.jpgFOCUS AND DETERMINATION WIN GOLD MEDAL

DESPITE POVERTY AND CONSTANT CHANGE

Henry Cejudo stunned viewers when he became the youngest American to win an Olympic gold medal in wrestling. Winning an Olympics so soon, with so little world-level experience, almost never happens.Cejudo was 31st in last year's world championships, his only prior tournament at this level.  But it's his story that makes the gold even shinier.

"I always knew I was going to be here," Cejudo said,  "I watched the Olympics as a kid and I knew I'd be here.

It was tough. His parents were undocumented Mexicans who met in Los Angeles. His mother had six kids, four with his father, Jorge, who was in and out of prison until dying of heart problems at age 44 last year. Henry never saw him after age 4.

The family was miserably poor, sometimes moving from apartment to apartment under the cover of night because they lacked rent money. His mom worked several jobs at a time, stealing home for a few hours to make sure her family wasn't in trouble. Sometimes they stayed with friends, sometimes with relatives, sleeping six or seven to a room in bad neighborhoods, drug deals going on down the street. Always, though, someone was there to offer a helping hand. (He had never slept in a bed alone until his arrival in Bejing)

"I'm proud of my Mexican heritage," Cejudo said. "But I'm an American. It's the best country in the world. They call it the land of opportunity, and it is. Maybe if some other kid watches this, he can do the same."

Photos from Space-So Grand and Inspiring

Planetary Nebula blue green violet.jpg

Remember first and foremost, preparedness is a state of mind. That means we must continue to develop our minds, deepen our focus, and strengthen our fortitude each and every day.  Without this, all the rice, freeze dried raspberry crumble, and canned cheese will never satisfy our hunger and take us beyond troubled waters.

On this note, I wanted to share with you these beautiful Hubble Telescope photos. I found this particular one so useful for imaging the phosphorescent green, electric blue, and ultra-violet blue colors we recently were working with in our disciplines.

Blessings to all!

OFFICE MAGIC

For those of you who know the significance of 2013, you'll so appreciate the profoundness of this. I review documents throughout my day at work, most of them come via fax. At the very top of a fax you'll find in small print, the name or business of the sender, and the date sent. This is programmed into the fax machine. Then the rest of the fax is in regular print, or larger. You've seen them before.

I usually don't notice this little date unless I'm questioning the timeliness of something. But on this particular day I scanned the small print and LO AND BEHOLD the date said May 13, 2013!!!!!! I went on with my work with the delight of such a "coincidence". But by evening I was stunned by the magnitude of this occurrence - the future coming to me via fax. Awesome!

WHILE TESTING YOUR VOCABULARY, YOU ARE HELPING WORLD HUNGER. A BRILLIANT CONCEPT THAT APPEALS TO YOUNG AND OLD.

With all the rice shortage stories flying through email in-boxes and appearing in newspapers these past few days, people's fears have escalated. We must remember to hold our focus and not get swept up in this wave which only contributes to the fear.

The website of FreeRice.com came across my desk today and the timing couldn't be more perfect. Started in October of 2007 by a private individual John Breen, FreeRice.com has two goals:

   1)     Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.

   2)     Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.

The online game is addicting knowing you're not only challenging yourself, you're making a difference in the world. For each word you get right, 20 grains of rice are donated to the UN World Food Program. Since its inception in October of 2007, 28,961,618,550 grains of rice have been donated. Just on April 23rd of this year 243,886,100 grains were donated. That is stunning!

Go to the website www.FreeRice.com and find out for yourself. You can choose different levels of vocabulary and different options for playing. Pass this on to your friends. Enjoy.

The power lies within us to stay focused and to make a difference.

Inspired Living-Stories From A Mountain Top Home

Mountain.jpgGuest Bloggers Niki and Howard

The day our land picked us, we thought we were ready for anything! Hindsight has confirmed the truth in the statement, "Attitude is everything!" And we continue to this day, seven years later, to realize that it IS the journey, not the destination.... There is always something that needs our attention, always the next project.... and your attitude will help you make it or break it, meaning your lifestyle in the mountains or any 'independent' lifestyle outside of the 'social consciousness norm'. It is not what happens to you, but how you re-act to it.

So, what is your attitude? Ours would be, "Independent, self-starters, happy, adventurous, willing to learn, ask questions. Not too 'ego' centered, not afraid to be wrong or make mistakes- if there is such a thing! We grow as we learn!

If you tend to "victimhood" and blame others for your situation, you will discover more opportunity to accept your own ability to create your own reality as you continue to create more challenges for yourself, than "lessons learned."

Here is a sample of the 'new' neighbors: #1 moved here from out of state. Has an attitude his land is His land, (not part of Mother Earth evidently...) He is a victim, expects people to take advantage of him. He offended the man whose family farmed this acreage for generations. Yep, he is our 'Neanderthal neighbor'!

#2 Moving here from a high-tech job is a young couple, vegan, whose religion has spread the fear of a downtrodden humanity that will celebrate Armageddon. Their children learn survival skills, and their precious minds are tightly wrapped in a box with very defined edges. Their parents have taken 'advantage' of the property boundaries, road easements, and undermined the trust of their other neighbors in the area. Local contractors are leery to work with them again, and have spread the word. Yep, set themselves up to be very independent.

#3 A retired professional in the legal profession; moved here to his "nature retreat". Everything is a new experience- building, living off the grid until his 'main home' is completed; he is joy-filled, curious, gracious and does things within parameters that leave room for possibility. What a great spirit!

No matter where you go, even out into the world to make a space for your "space", create it with room to grow, in all ways. We each shall be challenged by our realities, and to build a community, a 'safe' space, or an attitude, you will need all we have learned about "creating your own reality". Make it known! ~Onward!

WHILE I WAS WORKING, SPRING CAME INTO TOWN

Signs of spring.jpgTo all you beautiful readers, I appreciate your patience while I've been away from the blog. I've missed the exchange. Yes, my schedule has been intense lately. Leaving the house at 5:45 in the dark, crisp, cold morning, and returning home around 8:00 in the evening, dark, crisp and cold yet. What happens between these hours has been a great opportunity to practice presence and focus.

As humans we're wired, to some degree or another, to want things clear, to have things make sense, to have a beginning and an end, to see the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, to feel a sense of accomplishment. But in this work of assisting flood disaster victims the chaos is stunning, and these basic desires must be left behind with an eye to a distant horizon stretching far out into the future.

The schedule knocked me down for a couple of days with a cold-like, flu-like intervention, giving me a stretch of sleep that was long overdue and a glimpse of daytime. To my surprise, while I was working, spring pushed its way out of its slumber through the crust of winter. Walking in the sun of a clear day I had to squint my eyes not believing what I was seeing. I know I've been in need of my glasses more often these days, and I know my schedule has scrambled time beyond recognition, but could that be a bud on that bush? I looked around and saw another on a different plant, and then another. It changed everything. In that one moment of observation winter was behind me, and each step brought such a gratitude for its magnificent silence, its heavy sleep laden cold, and the magic that makes new life.

It's a New Year, a New Day, a New Life!

Be well! Be happy! Be outrageous!

Out into the dark early morning I walked, eyes a bit sleepy.

The night was still present, the sky black and spattered with stars.

I love this time of morning, when silence reaches far distances

and one's humanity is put in proper perspective.

Humbled and inspired at the magnificence of it all

I walk tall and strong, sprinkling glitter along my path with each step.

A sparkling day it shall be!

Clouds breaking open.jpg

Dear Louise;

I just wanted to Thank You for doing this Blog. I truly enjoyed reading it. And I got a great belly laugh at the Dr. Phil story. This is my 1st year in RSE even though I heard Ramtha in 85-87. So far it's been quite a journey. I feel I have a lot of catching up to do, and preparing for the "changes" sometimes  becomes OVERWHELMING.

I get stressed sometimes trying to figure out how I'm going to get to Yelm and be self-sufficient. Then I listen to the Ram on one of my many CD's and hear him tell me I don't need to know how, just focus on what I want to create and not to worry about the how. It will come. Then I find my center again, but it's been quite a ride so far.

Thanks Again for ALL you do. We who can not be in Yelm yet. it really makes us feel a part of Yelm.

Blessings and Peace

S.Crosby from Phoenix, Arizona

Louise Responds:

Dear S. Crosby;

I am so glad you took the time to write. My deep appreciation. Although there are great challenges regardless of geography or how long one has been studying the teachings of the Ram, there is a community, a "field of understanding"  if you will, that can inspire, and keep one from being pulled by the undertow that seems to always be tugging at one's feet.

This blog, the MastersConnection website,  Kleiners Korner, and other wonderful streams of information and connections, (which I'll have listed in my blog soon), do help. I remember how important these were for me before I moved to Yelm. It was almost like a life line, a life preserver tossed out to me in the great big ocean of uncertainty and change. And yes, it can seem overwhelming because we tend to spend more time looking at what we think we're not, or we don't have yet, instead of using that same time knowing our dream already is.

One of my intentions in this blog is to provide information and  experiences that will serve one's journey in preparedness of mind and body, whether it's for people taking the first step, or are well on their way. While it's been slow in it's birthing, I want this to be a dynamic, interactive site. One of the things I'll be introducing shortly is a feature called: The Weekly Wisdom Forum: What Say You? There will be "experts" - people who have lived and breathed different aspects of preparedness and self-sufficiency, who will answer questions from readers. Keep an eye out for that.

We are beings of transforming destiny. How wonderful!

Blessings to you.

Louise

Inner Peace Comes From Finishing What You Started

The following is an email I received this morning. (I always wondered who sits around and writes these things).  It goes like this:

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr. Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel. Please pass this on to those who you think might be in need of inner peace.

Being prepared and self-sufficient is a new journey for me, yet one that seems so natural. Whether it's global warming, cataclysmic disasters, political upheaval or economic turmoil, isn't as important as the deeper understanding that being prepared is absolutely essential as we walk through these fragile times.

When I took stock of my life and my cupboards I was reminded that being prepared is not just about all the "stuff" that one may need, but the state of mind one is in. While this isn't news, it's easy to get caught up in the 'have to get' part, forgetting about the 'being' part, which is first and foremost.

We have the most extraordinary opportunity to see what we're really made of, what we're really capable of. We have been blessed with profound teachings and a love so grand and unfathomable-these will be the fertile ground and precious water for the seeds of our future. We are preparing for the unknown, in a greater way than we ever thought. This truly inspires me.

While I'm not an expert, I do have a very inquisitive mind, and a deep commitment to the Great Work. It is not my intention to repeat what others are already doing, but it's my frequency specific that will pull a thread through what's already out there, weaving it all together. I chose to share my journey in this blog format so that others may benefit from what I uncover along the way, both from a practical as well as inspirational perspective.

There are so many wise and wonderful voices out there, rich from life experience, experts in different areas, passionate about many things. I want to draw upon the gifts of our community both near and far, to educate, inspire, and support each other in our efforts.

As I evolve so will this blog, in form and content. Visit often.  I welcome your feedback, ideas, wisdom and humor. We're all in this together.

May we be inspired and motivated to our greatness. It's time.
