Al Victor passed this plane - Sun. May 10th (Mother's Day).

Long time RSE student & Yelm business owner Al Victor passed this plane this morning (Mother's Day).

I have known Al for many years and I was fortunate to be with him yesterday, Saturday in his salon, when he styled my hair for me. I got to give him a great big hug and a kiss yesterday, and we laughed a lot which we would always do together - I am so grateful for that. I will miss him a lot.
Most kindly, Stephany

------------------------------------------------
Al was having a grand day yesterday cutting hair in his own shop in Yelm as he so loved and was at home this morning.

He had what is being described as a "pulmonary event."

His family wants his body flown back to Michigan for burial there.
Details are pending about any remembrances here.
Will keep you posted.

I met Al at Snow Mountain in May of 1988 - the beginnings together in Elohim.
Al always had a smile and a kind word whenever I saw him, which I did recently.

Godspeed on your next adventures, sweet man! -- Steve Klein

Re: Al Victor passed this plane - Sun. May 10th (Mother's Day).

Al,

You are missed.  You knew every hair on my head - after all, you were my hair stylist for the last 20 years!  You were always interested in how things were going, and always laughed at my jokes...  Al, what a shock that you are gone - but not really gone - God Speed on your new adventure.  Such a light to the world you were.

God bless your family and loved ones and know that he was well respected and loved in our community - he knew that.

You're a spirit now Al.

I hope you brought your scissors, for God wanted his hair styled and requested you....

God Bless you Al...............

UPDATE: May 14, 2009
Al's 89 year-old mother is making arrangements to have the body flown back to Detroit for internment in the family plot.
Close friend Karla Davidson is traveling with Al's partner Jason (aka George McDonald) on Northwest Airlines on Thursday, to Detroit, as well.
Jason will be one of the pallbearers.

A memorial service here will be held Sunday, May 24th at the Lake Lawrence Club, 2pm.

You are invited to bring your own food & drink to celebrate Al's life - a man that touched our hearts & souls.

Donations are being accepted for the service- you can drop off anything at Al Victor's Beauty Salon in Yelm. We also need a sound system for the service, if anyone can
help - that would be great.
