Dear MasterConnection2020.com newsletter readers,

The great Pacific Northwest snow and ice storm of 2012 is over for now and electricity is slowly being restored to the greater Yelm community. Everyone I have spoken with agrees that this was a “Giant Runner” to help us evaluate our preparedness. Word is we are due for another blast in the near future.

We have been unable to put together the last newsletter (January 21st - still no power), but want to ask you to share your experiences with us. For those of you in the Yelm area—we ask, “What did you learn?” “What is on your to-do list before the next storm?” “What surprised you about your state of preparedness?” (good and bad)
We would love to hear the stories of how your neighbors came to together to clear the roads, etc. Write us and email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Let’s all help each other be better prepared next time.

Next week’s MC2020.com newsletter (January 28th) will be packed with practical preparedness information. Don’t miss it!

From around the world, I want to share with you an email I received from a friend in West African Country of Ghana in response to my happy announcement that the electricity had been restored to my home.

That's great. Great indeed. Have you observed that each time the electricity power goes off, some kind of 'power' goes out of your life?
But I can assure you, from my experience in my village, that when you get used to no power, there is such daytime peace and night time restfulness you enjoy, the city can't offer.
I believe these outages are preparing us for the days to come.
We here do actually get shocked if we get electricity power supply uninterrupted for a month, sometimes for a week.
So most of us who can afford do run generator set to step in when power is cut.

Please enjoy the 'return of power'.

Thanks and blessings
Sam

Ben, Jan, Anita & Tim wish you a safe and prosperous week ‘til we meet again.
