Lofty Thought of the Day

- Category: Articles
Writing and researching are two of my favorite things to do. In reflection, I remember receiving a toy typewriter for Christmas when I was seven. Since that time, I have used the keyboards of a typewriter, a code machine and now a computer keyboard. This ability has served me well.During my sojourn of some years ago, I became a newsletter writer; however, my first published article was for the national Social Security Administration employee magazine. When I became an ordained minister, I wrote my Sunday messages and upon retiring, began writing short stories for grandchildren.
It was not until I went to France in 2001 that I developed a passion to write a book about Mary Magdalene. I had admired her after hearing Ramtha(TM) throw out one-liners about Mary Magdalene and my interest grew.
In the Languedoc region of southern France, there are numerous churches dedicated to Mary Magdalene and I visited many of them. I already had a growing interest in the Black Madonnas and the Knights Templar, which intensified my wanting to write Secrets of the Magdalene Scrolls. I had written down what I recalled hearing Ramtha say about her and this is what I used to initiate my research. She was black, had red hair, one green eye and one blue eye, she was Ethiopian, the wife of Jesus and with him had two children – a boy and a girl. She was also the greater Initiate.
I read Laurence Gardner's books, the works of many supposedly biblical scholars and learned that she could not have been a Hasmonean princess. King Herod virtually decimated that lineage. Nor could I find any proof that she was of the Benjamin Tribe. History began unraveling and I researched Ethiopia and learned there was city of Magdala that was on the trade route from the East. I researched the people of Ethiopia, Egypt and Nubia of that time and verified much of what Ramtha had said. The late Emperor Halle Selassie of Ethiopia claimed to be the descendant of the Davidic lineage through Menelik I, the son of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon. Selassie also carried the title "Lion of Judah."
In researching the often-quoted Jewish historian Josephus, I learned that there is a great possibility that he created the books of the New Testament that Paul – aka Saul is alleged to have written. In Ralph Ellis' book Jesus Last of the Pharaohs, his research indicates that the lives and incidents of Paul and Josephus are almost identical in their biographies. It is interesting to contemplate that Paul was only a figment of Josephus' imagination.
Egyptian historians and others give an entirely different story of the Great Exodus of the Jews from Egypt, including their wandering in the desert for 40 years. Immanuel Velikovsky wrote in the 1950's using no computers, but going to libraries and the actual countries for his research. He arrived at some interesting conclusions such as the difference in years between the Jewish history and Egyptian history.
From Velikovsky, Ellis and other historical scholars, there is evidence that the Old Testament books of Kings, Chronicles and Numbers are actually about Egyptian history. It was not until after the Exodus that the Hebrews became the Israelites. Before that, they were Hyksos and the Hyksos had ruled Lower Egypt for approximately 300 years. There is also growing evidence that the Pharaoh Akhenaton was actually Moses.
I also researched the early Christian movement and the Catholic Church. I learned that the Merovingian lineage of kings were actually created in the 6th century by Bishop Gregory of Tours as he was the first to refer to the Merovingian dynasty as if it had come full-fledged into the world as the single ruling family of the Franks. This was not so, because until this time the Franks did not have one single king. There is much more on this background.
Anyone could be a descendant of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. From my perspective, the royalty of Europe have perpetuated the myth that they are the descendants. One has only to look at a genealogy chart and to know that it is similar to a pyramid. The scribes of the early centuries were the monks in the monasteries and the Celts and other European tribes kept no written records, because most of them could not read. In the first century, Rome ruled supreme. were I have learned that history is very fluid and there is no absolute because of the many translations and the ineptness of the writers.
